Simon Zinger to Depart Senior Role at Entain

United Kingdom.- 10 July 2026 www.zonadeazar.com Simon Zinger, Group General Counsel and Chief Customer Care Officer at Entain, is set to leave the company after more than five years in the role. His departure comes at a key moment for the group, amid ongoing regulatory commitments, legal proceedings linked to historical operations and continued efforts to combat the black market.

News Details

Zinger is expected to remain in post for a short period before leaving Entain and Gibraltar. He is a member of the group executive committee and holds a Personal Management Licence (PML) with the UK Gambling Commission, meaning the regulator will need to be formally notified of his departure.

During his tenure, Entain entered into a Deferred Prosecution Agreement (DPA) with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) in relation to historical operations in Turkey. The agreement requires the company to maintain an enhanced compliance programme and a rigorous cooperative relationship with the CPS until December 2027.

The DPA included a GBP 585 million penalty and remains one of the most significant regulatory episodes in the group’s recent history.

Industry Context

Zinger’s departure comes as Entain continues to face significant legal and regulatory scrutiny. In addition to the DPA, former executives of GVC Holdings, Entain’s previous corporate identity, are facing individual proceedings related to the Turkey investigation, with trials scheduled to begin from February 2028.

Zinger also played a prominent role in helping Entain secure an unconditional licence in Nevada and in the company’s public engagement on tackling illegal gambling, including calls for stronger action against unlicensed operators.

Next Steps or Impact

Entain will now need to manage the transition of a senior figure across its legal, regulatory and customer protection functions. The departure may draw further attention from regulators and investors given Zinger’s role in the DPA framework and the group’s wider strategy against the black market.
