Mobile Betting Usage Surpasses 98% in Brazil
Brazil.– May 6, 2026 – www.zonadeazar.com A new report reveals that Brazil is consolidating a nearly “mobile-only” model within the online betting sector, with smartphones accounting for more than 98% of all platform accesses nationwide.
Overview
Brazil’s iGaming market continues demonstrating a unique digital behaviour across Latin America. A recent study conducted by the Aposta Legal platform revealed that 98.64% of accesses to betting operators in Brazil during the first quarter of 2026 were made through mobile phones.
The data, collected by the Bets Panel, shows that desktop usage has almost disappeared from the digital routine of Brazilian bettors, accounting for only 1.36% of total traffic.
The research confirms how Brazil has established itself as one of the most mobile-dependent markets within the global iGaming industry.
Details / Context
According to the report, the country registered approximately 6.28 billion accesses to betting platforms during the first three months of 2026. Of that total, nearly 6.19 billion came from smartphones.
The expansion of the mobile model follows the growth of social media, the popularisation of apps, the development of highly responsive websites and the increasing consumption of live sports broadcasts through mobile devices.
Today, smartphones have become the primary gateway for player registrations, deposits, checking dynamic odds and quick withdrawals.
This behaviour also highlights how digital entertainment has become organically integrated into the daily routine of Brazilian consumers, allowing for significantly higher engagement frequency throughout the day.
Comparison with Other South American Markets
The contrast between Brazil and other Latin American markets is particularly striking.
While desktop usage has nearly vanished in Brazil, other countries still maintain a considerable share of computer-based betting activity.
In Peru, desktop accesses account for approximately 15% of total traffic. In Chile, desktop participation rises to 19%, while in Ecuador it reaches 28%.
The figures indicate that desktop usage in Chilean operations is almost 14 times higher than in Brazil, while in Ecuador the difference exceeds 20 times.
Impact on the iGaming Industry
The rise of the mobile-first model is directly reshaping strategies across the online betting industry.
Operators, platforms and technology suppliers continue investing heavily in apps, responsive experiences, mobile payment integration and real-time personalisation tools.
The overwhelming dominance of smartphones also strengthens continuous engagement models, instant marketing strategies and integrated experiences involving sports streaming, social media and online betting.
The scenario further reinforces Brazil’s position as one of the most strategic markets in the global iGaming industry.
