Gávea Racecourse Marks 100 Years with GP Brasil

Brazil.- 11 June 2026 🌐 www.zonadeazar.com Brazil’s leading horse racing event will celebrate the centenary of Rio de Janeiro’s iconic Gávea Racecourse with four days of racing and entertainment.

The historic Hipódromo da Gávea, home of the Jockey Club Brasileiro in Rio de Janeiro, is celebrating its 100th anniversary by hosting the Grande Prêmio Brasil 2026, the most prestigious event in Brazilian horse racing.

The festival will take place from 13 to 16 June, featuring free admission, top-class racing, family attractions, gastronomy and entertainment throughout the venue.

The headline race will feature 17 runners competing for the country’s most coveted horse racing title, including contenders such as Oderich, Zucca Baby, Mc Arrocha, Zandor and Summer do Iguassu.

Opened in 1926, Gávea Racecourse has hosted the Grande Prêmio Brasil since 1933 and remains one of the most iconic horse racing venues in South America.

According to the Jockey Club Brasileiro, the 2026 edition celebrates both the venue’s rich heritage and the future development of horse racing in Brazil.
